The Sacraments of Initiation are:
  • Baptism
  • Confirmation
  • Eucharist
Baptism
The Sacrament of Baptism is our rebirth in water and the Spirit. In Baptism, the plunging into water symbolizes that we die to sin and rise to new life in Christ. Through Baptism we are made members of the Church and given the hope of eternal life. Holy oil represents a strengthening against evil and a cleansing from sin. Perfumed oil that has been blessed is a sign of the Gift of the Holy Spirit.
Confirmation
Those preparing for Confirmation are called candidates. They can prepare by praying and reflecting on the life of Jesus Christ, the mission of the Church, and the Gift of the Holy Spirit. Candidates choose a sponsor, which needs to be 16 years of age and who has received the Sacraments of Initiation, and is an example of Christian living.
The bishop invites all the people in the Church to pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the candidates. When our Baptism is completed through the Sacrament of Confirmation, we receive a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Eucharist
*Sacraments of Initiation*
-the three primary sacraments on which the reset of our life as Christians  depend on
Through the Sacrament of Eucharist we receive everlasting nourishment-- the bread and wine that by the power of the Holy Spirit become the Body and Blood of Christ. Through our unity in the Eucharist we are the Body of Christ in the world. Paschal means relating to the Passover. The Paschal meal was the last meal that Jesus shared with his disciples before his death. We gather as an assembly in the name of the Blessed Trinity to celebrate the Eucharist.
